These works are part of the State Government’s plan to install a 15 kilometre Greenway from Adelaide to Marino Rocks and link the southern suburbs along the Noarlunga rail line under the State Government’s $12 million Greenways and Cycle Path Program.

hadn't heard of this before....google here I come!

This will be great once it's complete. The old bridge over the Sturt River has been a real bottleneck for a long time.

this looks really good - a new bikeway following the Noarlunga rail line.

Agreed Matt

new strava segment

Thanks for keeping us updated on these items Gus.

I do hope that they put down a bit of bitumen on the short section of loose gravel path that goes through the reserve area.

Its a great shortcut that takes you down by the driver instruction area, across Oaklands Rd and down Hendrie St to join the Mike Turtur bikeway alongside the Morphettville race course from the Marion area.

So when will we see an anouncement about a bike path connecting the mish mash of cycle routes from the city to Gawler, so flat, so ideal for commuters.

Clive, unfortunately you will have to wait for the Greenway to go from the CBD to Glenelg, 10 years according to the State Govt. State & Local Govt talk about a Greenway following the railway line near Devonport Terrace, but omit that the space next to the line becomes too narrow for cyclist safety (trains and freight trains can sway a little). Then the space disappears totally where private land that is an industrial estate.

An AC cyclist stated that they had not heard of the Greenway following the Noarlunga line. Several years ago I attended a breakfast where Conlon spoke about public transport plans, including changes to the railway line and extension to Seaford. During question time, I asked him to include a cycleway alongside of the railway. He appeared flustered, as though he had not thought of this, but said he would consider it.
