I am all for Strava segments BUT chasing Strava descending segments are dangerous to the inexperienced rider, do it at your own peril.

lets sue someone for our own stupidity!

The cyclist was travelling above the speed limit when he crashed but his family blame Strava?

40 mph = 64km/h pfff

That's ridiculous! But it is the US.

In the USA the TV is (amongst other things) full of adverts for ambulance-chasing lawyers that use a comforting catch-phrase something along the lines of "...it won't bring poor johnny back from the dead, but the money will help".

I wondered if Strava has a fine print along the lines when you register  " Strava wont be responsible for causing injuries / death when chasing Strava descent segments "

actually I don't think Strava could be responsible for any segments.

They don't create any.

If I get hurt on 'Becks Bakehouse Departure' I'm coming for you RD6!

I better pack a FUIC in my first aid kit :P

As if you'd get hurt leaving Bec's, your jersey would be stuffed full of doughnuts, that would save you if you fell.

LOL

Gold

To be fair Strava has got a disclaimer about that kinda stuff.

After my recent crash (not Strava related) I've been slower on the descents; it doesn't detract from the enjoyment and thrill of riding
