I've had Strava premium for past 6mths and have just received a message asking for my payment details to renew my subscription. Have you all done this or is there another code floating around?

i dont have strava but i thought it was all free.what sort of payment details were needed

You get extra features if you pay $

don't know if its a dodgy request though.

Strava is Free but premium isnt. A lot of AC folk jumped on the free Strava Premium last yr with a code that was provided. Just wondering what the other premium users have done now that there Free subscription is running out?
Figured that the developers of Strava should be rewarded for their time and efforts in providing and maintaining a useful service so subscribed to it after a period of getting used to its basic features...now I have Strava showing me how crap Iam as a cyclist....and have to work harder now at improving.

on Strava, there is ALWAYS someone faster than you and ALWAYS someone slower than you.

a balanced perspective helps when using it.

otherwise those reading this who are slower than you, hopefully aren't offended by the inference that they are crappier than crap.

PS. I don't think you are crap

Ahhhh....that is the fault of strava in that names are ranked on a leader board according to speed on a designated section...hence speed is the element that is valued not much else...it doesnt put names on the leader board for most improved during a week or month for example...just a thought fot the programme developers...importantly is that such a ranking programme can have a negative effect in that after a while their times may not come down on a particular strava section and they may not ride because they dont feel good on a particular day and believe whats the point of going ou and riding a slower time...hope this explains my comment better...

if leaderboards based on speed are a reason for you not riding ........

your premium Strava subscription allows you to filter just your times under the tab "My Results", go into your Strava preferences and make it your default segment view.

problem solved!

Good idea AVO...places Ive been interest me more....strava writing is more cool...and making the profile line all wiggly instead of flat lining....elevation and metres climbed is pretty cool

Actually, one of the things I like on Strava is the suffer score - it seems representative of effort rather than speed/ability/athleticism. I'm not that flash on the bike but I know the one thing I can (generally) beat CLP in is the suffer score! Being less than brilliant means you have to put in more effort and you can see this in the suffer score which means if you go on a group ride with a whole pile of riders that are better than you, they may beat you on time but you'll generally be able to hold your head high and say "ah, but did you suffer as much as I did"! I'm a big believer that suffering counts for more (but I may be biased) and anyway, having your ride described as tough or epic is just awesome!

+1....Virginia....

That's convinced me.  I'm in.

If you call my riding crap youre paying me a compliment
