Todays SSRC P Ride was a jaunt starting at Hallet Cove for some, Brighton for other , up to OH and back, with a few others joining at the Buffalo. Sorry I have no photos , so yo get a wall of text instead.

Kicked off at 7.45am from Cafe Rimini's, with Greg (TEC) , Michael (Lead), Martin, Tony and Daniel. A cracking pace got us down through the C2V bikeway and to Brighton , well ahead of our proposed time of 8.15am, instead we rocked up at 8.00am on the dot. Next time we need to only allow for 15 minutes from HC down to Brighton I think.

Brett and Callum were there ready and waiting, and stupid me , not re-checking the enrolments again before going to bed last night, missed that one other was going to join us there. So thinking we had picked everyone up, we kicked off again just after 8.10am.

A nice gentle ride to the Buffalo followed, knowing that Gus and Co would be joining us about 8.45am. We arrived around 8.30am , time enough for a few pitstops and a gasbag about the Olympic road race.

Gus arrived with Simon and Steph (?) and off we trotted up to OH and back.

Unfortunately between Semaphore and Largs we came across an Ambulance attending to a rider , we think they may have been one of the Skinny Latte's team, but rather than add to the confusion we kept going. Hope they are ok whomever they were.

A re-group at OH, saw another rider join us, Dave who had been tailing us all the way from Brighton, having arrived at 8.15am and left at 8.30am. Sorry Dave I missed your post , I owe you a coffee or something. Btw , thats a nice ride you have. Mmmmmm Titanium.

Anyway, a nice re-fuel stop at The Coffee Club , with Martin, Tony and Daniel trialling the new "Super" fuel , Strawberry Milkshakes. They seemed to go down a treat.

Gus, Simon and Steph left us at Henley Beach road, so we all made our way back to Glenelg, with the weather looking decidely dodgy.

We kept going, until Michael called a halt halfway between Glenelg and Brighton , to see if the weather would clear.

Dave and Brett pushed on quickly to get back to their warm cars,we didn't see them again, but thanks for joining us. We waited for Martin to extract his bike from behind the tables, no-on was overly enthused about the weather , but time to Belgian Up and get cracking. So we pushed on.

Unfortunately the P fairy decided it was time for a visit and Daniel copped it. We waited at the Seacliff Hotel, enjoying the scenery, when Tony rang me saying the had cheated and gone up a different street. Time to hit the hump that is Wheatland St.

Then the weather cleared and we had a nice ride in the sun from Seacliff to Hallet Cove, with no further visits or issues. Greg decided he wasn't going to the carpark until his odo started with an 8, so did a quick up and down Lonsdale Hwy.

All up 78km, Ave speed 23km/hr. A great ride and an even better way to stretch the legs.

Thanks all, and once again Sorry Dave.
