This mornings "L" had a distinct lack of Cricks in attendance, hence you're all stuck with my less than creative skills in report writing. Sorry.

The morning started off at a balmy temp of 10 deg......at least its was better than the 7 deg displayed in the car when I left home.

11 intrepid souls braved the brass monkey start to head south on our usual route. I'm not good a remembering names , so we'll just say Steve lead us out of Becks, with Paul McG as TEC

All went well until a little way along the Esplanade, when Blake , who was trying out a new SMP seat, which bears a striking resemblance to two axe blades angled towards the nether regions , decided that the trial was going well and turned back. Down to 10 riders.

We had an encounter with a Bogan of the Hyundai variety at Seaford, but no real issues. I think he may have dropped his Ciggie out the window while screaming at us.

The C2V trial was rather quiet this morning, but was quite chilly, maybe everyone else was tucked up in bed.

We all navigated through the mess that is the McLaren Vale interchange and headed for Strava glory down California Rd. However as of the time of writing this it doesn't appear anyone shook the tree up at all. BTW RD6, the Dogs looked expectantly at the gate for you to roll past, but appeared quite disappointed to have missed their exercise in chasing you.

Regroup at the end of California was as usual accompanied by the sound of yappy white dogs. We then made reasonable pace down Malpas, until Tony noticed out TEC was missing, he was there at Malpas. Check the phone and sure enough , 1 missed call. Paul had got a puncture, but his pump was missing. So I rode back and we used one of my CO2 cannister to pump the retubed tyre back up.

A rather uneventful trip back up the C2V trial to the park for a quick pitstop and refresh , left everyone with strong legs for the trip back up Pedler trail.

Unfortunately Paul's rear tyre must have sustained some sidewall damage and the tube popped out, leading to a split in the group. After a quick re-group the lead pack set off for Becks and coffee, Paul and a few other got going again thanks to a handy piece of plastic.

However the piece of plastic gave up the ghost near Becks with Paul forced to walk from the roundabout , while the rest of us sipped Lattes and nibbled on Scones and Cream.

Back at Becks Gillian, Colin, Anne and Mr Mapei had warmed up the seats for us, as well as broken out the GW jerseys for size testing. Thanks for your efforts in sorting through this Gillian.

So all in all , another great morning rides down South, Mental note to self, wear Booties next time.

Wonderful to hear all went well this morning. I am so sorry I could not be there but alas training had to be done for the new job.

Not been for a decent ride on the roadie for a while and it's gathering dust!

If I can arrange a new route for a fortnights time I will but I have to go to Cairns for some more training (poor me) so will see if we can come up with an alternative before then :-)

better not let too much dust gather on it Michelle or Phil will have it headed to Bike Exchange :)

Mmm. now there's a thought. I've always fancied a fixie
Good ride again today despite the punctures. I guess that's what you get when you buy cheap wheels Paul :-), it makes a change from me having problems.

those cheap wheels:-) that will teach me for a being such a tight ......? I am sure its all part of the lifes up and downs.

We've all been there Paul, I remember many years ago buy 2 very expensive tubular tyres and puncturing both in the same race.

Good report effort Matt. sounds like an eventful day and not all positive based on pauls recollection. I had a late night last night myself and didn't wake till u guys left.

Looking forward to the winter ride coming up very soon.
