Hey all, I'm a single chick in my 30s who is keen to meet some other singles and I was thinking about the possibility of an Adelaide Cyclists speed dating/cycling event. What do you say? Or am I just crazy for even thinking about it.

I've love to go to one, but I'm not putting my hand up to organise it on my own........ Anyone else want to join me?

went to the link and 5 members whose names and privacy protected. so perhaps more interest than when someone tried to start this before. i suggested ideas like meet for picnic in the park and cheap meals like fasta pasta.

looks like I need an invite to join this group.

I'm disqualified. :(

Sorry Katie...my wife doesnt want to get rid of old broken things :)

Would some sort of singles social ride be a compromise.

As for non singles attending perhaps they could wear a wedding ring or some electrical tape on the visor of their helmet or some other prearranged but reasonably subtle sign.

Could electrical tape on the visor be a new sub culture.

Equally by just signalling you intentions ( have I spent too much time studying business) to a community of 1900 members and however many lurkers.

This may just be enough to fix the issue.

A person once said to me it is a lot better to be unhappily single than unhappily married.

Many single people I know seem happily single.

I think it's more about meeting people who have more disposable time, not just for cycling but for spontaneous events. I love my friends who have girlfriends, boyfriends, wives, husbands and children, but when you want to do something at the drop of a hat, it can be hard to find someone to do something with. Thanks for your comments Don, I think that just posting something here will be enough to start a singles/speed-dating social riding group.

I'd rather be happily single than happily married *wink* *wink*

Is that from experience as I am happily married and its great! *Nudge* *Nudge*

Say no more

Maybe the married people could glue those plastic bride and groom figures to their helmet :)

Catering for the event could be wedding cake :)

Any licensed marriage celebrants coming along :)

Do they keep off magpies ?
