Speaking of etiquite - jerseys

So, whats the go with wearing jerseys such as world champ, Aussie champ, Tdf yellow and King of the Mountains etc. I always thought you needed to earn the right to wear some gear.
I guess the same could be said for team kit although that doesnt assume individual hard work, effort and achievment etc.
Funny story, a mate of mine was following some "tosser" up Greenhill road a few years ago in the World Champs kit, was going to say something tongue in cheek to him when he caught up, turned out it was actually Cadel

Well, i can understand Protocol for Elite cyclists and the regulations and requirements to wear their ACTUAL REAL WORLD CHAMPIONS Jersey and alike and i believe it should be respected, but i also understand that not every cyclists is an Elite Competitior or even in a club and may not understand Protocol and Etiquette rules as those who are Elite, so in a way you could say its an ignorant decision and not done do dishonour any individual.

Mathew, you have made the most valid point of this discussion. The protocol is only for the elite cyclist and not for the supporter, the weekender and the recreational cyclist who'd wear the jersey to honour the champ.

My daughter, when she was about 3, asked me if I was Spiderman, I don't know why. This presented me with a problem, it would be cool if my daughter thought I was a superhero, but I didn't want to lie to her. I looked at her and said "Sweetie, Daddy isn't Spiderman... Daddy's Batman." She laughed and told me I was silly.
