So, whats the go with wearing jerseys such as world champ, Aussie champ, Tdf yellow and King of the Mountains etc. I always thought you needed to earn the right to wear some gear.
I guess the same could be said for team kit although that doesnt assume individual hard work, effort and achievment etc.
Funny story, a mate of mine was following some "tosser" up Greenhill road a few years ago in the World Champs kit, was going to say something tongue in cheek to him when he caught up, turned out it was actually Cadel

and neither do I.

Well i can solve this problem for you all.  Go to www.codysangelheartfoundation.org.au and buy one of their jerseys.

Be a part of a team where we want you to ride and wear this jersey with pride.

Yes i know this is a plug for the charity that i started. But it really is a great looking jersey.

Where's the "Like" button on this damn forum?

It is also a comfortable jersey. Buy one, you'll love it.

This whole thing just cracks me up. i dont have a WC jersey either bought or won and honestly i dont think i would because i personally wouldnt feel comfortable but after reading some of the responses on here i may just end up getting one. at the end of the day we are wearing it as supporters of the brilliant athletes who some of us idolize and visialise when we are training. Unfortunately there are elements of the cycling fraternity who are very elitist and look down there noses at people who dont have the best of everything whether it be apparel, bikes, components or whatever. bloody hell i own a Malvern Star that i got on special from Standish cycles and 1 pair of bib shorts that i got from Cell that cost me $29 and yes i have had people look down on me.

if you want to wear a WC jersey or KOM or whatever then do it. if it makes you feel good about what you are doing that is all that matters. the choice is up the each individual and until the manufacturers or teams or UCI or the pope for all i care cracks down on the making of the jerseys for public consumption the discussion is null and void in my opinion

Thank you Trent....

Go the Malvern Star!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

=-)

By the way...

I guess i'll be seeing some of you tomorrow at GS2....

I'll be the one riding the Malvern Star Oppy Lyon with WC stripes that commemorates SIR Hubert Opperman and his win in the Lyon-Geneva-Lyon race of 1931.....whilst i wear the replica KOM winners jersey of 2011 TDF....

So if i pass any of you 'he can't wear that' folks going up a hill, feel free to think i am a tosser. Who doesn't care what u think........

nice!!! have a great ride, cos isn't that really the important bit???

.....keep your eye on the prize.....keep your eye on the prize.....(lol)
.....glad this isnt a discussion about helmets or no helmets........(lol......ouch stop throwing things at me.....)
