Just back from my Sunday ride...... Stirling-Handorf and return via Aldgate Valley and River Roads. What a perfect day for riding...warm but overcast with a light wind from the side most of the way. Some days are just meant to be spent out on the bike.

Blimey one quick ablut in the ablution block and you are there!

Permalink Reply by Patrick O'Kane on January 29, 2012 at 15:45 It was a good day to ride. I was sipping a coffee in McLaren Vale wondering where to go when a text from Clive made the decision for me. A scenic trip to Blackwood, with a few diversions, saw me approaching home with 98.5kms on the computer, six laps of the school car park later I pulled into the drive way with 100.0km on the clock, plus 1100 or so metres of climbing.

In my defence I'd planned to ride 100kms and changed my route but was too close to miss out.
Permalink Reply by Specialised Roubaix on January 29, 2012 at 16:02 Driving through Woodside today & saw a lot of riders who probably dont ride a lot by the look of their bikes & gear etc: great to see people taking advantage of our great country, the Amy Gillett bikeway & I suspect inspired by the recent TDU media coverage
Permalink Reply by Dstone on January 29, 2012 at 16:14 I rolled out the door after 6, killer coffee in town and then wondered up the freeway. Got so caught up day dreaming that i missed aldgate valley road so i looped back home via sturt valley and pole. New tyres for the decent past the national park was nice as well. Chilled out ride to test the wonky knee. 60ks with 1 k of climbing perfect and my knee still works! Perfect day for a hills ride.
Started good, was supposed to meet my pilot in Goodwood but he must have got lost so I tackled Belair Road for the 1st time, lets just say it's a road I will have to return to a few times, the steep bits were a bit much after Fridays adventure. Caught up with friends in Blackwood then home via Old Belair Rd, Cross Rd and Portrush. I'll have to do a commute early in the week so I can claim 1,000kms for the month, currently just 20kms short.
