Hi all, just a word of warning for anyone who rides in Bonython Park, in particular the fairly new section of path which goes past the horses in the olive grove. This morning my bike slid out from under me on one of the bends, I was only going at a moderate speed, it wasn't particularly wet and there wasn't much visible debris on the path but a combination of the wet weather and overhanging olive trees left it very slippery. I've emailed the council about the potential hazard.

ian, a reason for my warning 23 hours earlier is that one ac member posted on ac, but objected to me adding their name with link to ac discussion on ac group look for cyclists -- their right.    my intentions are good.   collating data that hopefully one day will be used to lobby for better cycling conditions.   when i find time, will add more info like pictures of some interesting cycling facilities interstate under topic of how to design for cyclists.   a topic on vote for cyclists has links to ac discussions on how to make oneself more visible, comparison of lights, etc.   check out the group.

I have, good stuff. You are nothing if not dedicated to the task, well done.

checked and you are a member of look for cyclists.   but not adelaide bug -- do you ever cycle in the city?

thanks for the positive feedback.    my dedication can be explained by being injured thrice by negligent drivers who were never charged; the deaths of three cycling friends; and the many cycling acquaintances who have been hit, injured, maimed or killed.   keeps me focused in striving for better cycling conditions.

I commute 40 km a day using the Linear Park through the city as much as possible because I believe the chances of having a nasty are proportional to the time spent in the firing line. In other words I accept that there are a lot of bad drivers on the road, I see them when I am driving, why should anything change because I am on a pushy?  I also recognise that I am very vulnerable and totally at the mercy of drivers who are a, not very good and b, probably on the phone or face book while driving or c, drunk/drugged plus not very good and on the phone...in short Heather the less time spent on the road during peak hour the better. :-)

Another word of warning.............with the Stereosonic concert thing setup, cars are using the bike path amongst the olive grove to get to the car park. Keep your eyes open for cars coming the other way.
