Update :  Attempted Shim9Ergo11 route with LBS help.

LBS person #1 (owner)  looked at the CTC link and was happy give it a go and it was booked in for the operation.

I brought it in and LBS person #2 was there, he was non-commital it would work but would do it, so I left my bike  there, a little aprehensive now, thinking I might have made a mistake and should just try to do all this myself.

Later in the day I picked it up and was served by LBS person#3 , when I asked, he said 'well as well as can be expected for non-matching components' with no positive vibe which was really a bit of a downer.

Fortunately I managed to chat with LBS person #2 on the way out of the shop , he was alot more positive and actually seemed pleased how the whole operation went. That cheered me up a bit.

Finally, I managed to take the bike for a ride today and would like to report it shifts very well -

Although it feels stiffer compared to say full Chorus shifting, the ability to execute multiple ups and down shifts is a bonus.

Here are some pictures.

Ergo 11 Right shifter.

Shim9 RD and Cassette - (no Shiftmate required for this combo)

Shim FD - (so happens the FD and Crank are the last original bits from Tiagra groupset.)

*yes yes , I know, I will need to get chain cleaned.

Happy with the LBS for being willing to do the job, as well as the results.

And err.. yes, I can now shift between Big and Small Chainrings too!

Thanks for the encouragement Matt.

Thanks for this link as got a project in the pipeline and dont like Shimano 7800 series 10 speed shifters
