i know a painter who used to swear by them and a guy who does video work who likes the velcro ones because they dont snag on cables.
I've seen similar sneakers with the steel caps somewhere, maybe in a catalogue for the safety shop. they seem to be what guys laying pavers wear.

Permalink Reply by Gus K on February 24, 2012 at 15:18 It's doesn't say it's a fixie, it says it is a 'preset'. RD6 should be done for false advertising!

Permalink Reply by RD6 on February 24, 2012 at 15:54 ah really, I just assumed being single speed = fixie
Permalink Reply by Michael Murray on February 24, 2012 at 16:27 Back in the old days (60s) as a kid I had single speed with a built in freewheel. Only my poorer friends had the fixies and had to put their feet up on the handlebars when we went downhill :-) .

Based on my experience with cheap chinese bearings in cheap chinese bicycles, just ride it for a couple of weeks and it'll turn into a fixie (or a brokenie).
