Why? I've got one of them here and it's the heaviest road bike I've ever deal with. I couldn't believe it when I first picked it up. Maybe the tubes are stuffed with gold coins or something.
On the other hand, my Road Chief, which came with the cheapest componentry I've ever seen (such as rough pressed brake calipers), has a very nice frame - obviously plain guage but it's as light as my track bike which is Reynolds 500.

Well, they at least sold one as we just replaced the cranks and BB axle on one. Guess they just don't make axles like they used to.... well on BSO's anyway.
