Tell everyone how yours was! Was it as a group, an event or a solo ride? Was the weather ok? Was rule 5 ignored or applied?
As for me, I took my 10yo nephew on his longest ride to date (25km) from Hackham to the McLaren Vale Info centre and return. He's in training for the pedal prix with his school. 7 weeks ago he couldn't do 14km without an emotional meltdown. He has now learned to pace himself on his trusty Raleigh MTB to the point where there is no stopping on hills and drinks can be taken whilst moving. The thing I am most proud of is that the cries of "I can't" are fast becoming a thing of the past.
I'd go into the route changes along the Coast to Vines, but thats been covered plenty in another discussion.
So, how was your ride?

Wow, well done nephew.
My ride? Good, 90k up and back along the coast, nice ride this morning. Met up with the Cobwebs for a ride down to Outer Harbor and back (thanks guys), because I need the bunch riding experience. Weather cool but dry, wind nothing too bad.
Its great when they can see improvements with their efforts. Always encourages them to push themselves.
My ride was a bloody chilly 85k's around the hills - 10C when I head out. Pretty windy in places, and showers! All in all a pretty average effort. Probably need to get the arm-warmers out (and HTFU)!
My ride was Athelstone to the Torrens Wier along Linear Park and back (36km avg 25.2km/hr) on my Giant Cross City bought for my 40th a few weeks ago. I've got to say I love my new bike - it's a dream compared with my old GT Outpost Mountain Bike (15 years old!)
OMG Stephen. It must have felt like you were flying!
Sh*t ride, bad company, poor weather, dodgy food. I might give this cycling lark away, it's over-rated.
Might find a beer for Jim somewhere though.
No had a great ride down the Veloway, went good for an old phart.
Firstly, well done Wattsy - your nephew will be proud as punch for morning talks in his classroom, reminds me of how I used to tell you to keep pushin along California Road, keep it up
Lastly, Good warm up ride this morning with Tailwind mob, in prep for slammin tomorrow's Bike SA Grand slam right in my neck of the woods. First time I worn arm warmers as its a wise investment for those nippy mornings / evenings ahead.
Having a can of RTD scotch & coke :)
"I cant becomes I can"
My ride was to the Gawler... in the morning, very windy today....so ave 25 and 60k
drove back to adelaide before lunch time.
Afternoon bit slower ride for my rest. ave 20 and 40k.
both good company.
Tomorrow...maybe Mini Slam.....
was a good ride with Ashleigh and CVSA (also premier Mike Rann) from Rotunda to Rotunda.... the coffee stop was a bit frustrating for I think they lost count on how many coffees they served and I had missed out..:-(
2nd need to by an extra coffee. Oh well "Such is Life".. Good for CVSA because of the numbers that turned out ....Nice bunch of riders with a passion that deserves recognition
Great 60 km ride with the Gawler Wheelers group this morning....beautiful conditions...excellent company....touch chilli at the end, although a Scotch on ice at the cafe warmed me up nicely! Look out for the full ride report on AC. Would love to see you join us next Sat and/or become a member of our group on AC:
Woke with a wee 'headache' - but last night was worth it. Knew even a small outting on Swissy (my trusty commuter) would help.
My ride was 13ks: forestville to central Markets (1st coffee n vegies), to hutt st (2nd coffee). However while i was riding i'd noticed that my usual even steering was wobbly. This became very apparent after Hutt st with a slow puncture.
Well it is my 1st puncture in 6yrs and 10,000kms, GOD BLESS 'double tubing'.
got home, repaired 1 real and 2 potential punctures and also changed the rear tube - all while chatting to my bestfriend.
A good day with my bike :-)
