My road bike was shipped back to Cannondale today to fix a fault under warranty. Looks like I won't have it back in time for C2C on 6th March. Stupid question but I'll ask anyway. Are there places where I can hire a good quality road bike for a week? Or is there anybody out there with a back up bike for loan that might fit a vertically challenged (160cm) old fart obsessed with improving on last year's C2C done at an average speed of 25kph. Or should I just stay in bed and sulk (not a good look at 64 years of age).

I think Bike SA hire out raod bikes - there is a fee i believe (unlike the city free bikes)

Enquired at BikeSA & you are spot on Lee-Anne. Thank you.

hi Denis... out of curiosity... what did it cost to hire

$50 per 24 hours Helen

ok thanks for that I will keep it in mind...

cause i have friends that travel down to adelaide and like to hire bikes...

so thanks for that

Thanks. It's good to have an option. We don't know yet whether Cannondale can fix & return in time so I'll keep this option open if I may. It's very good of you.
Take malvern star Oppy C7 out for a test weekend
Ta Rob. How do I go about exercising this option?

Go to any Standish cycles store - request that you want to take a Malvern Star Oppy for a test ride, go from there - all depends on availability and what size frames they have , all you need to do is produce your drivers license

Standish Cycles - Mile End - they stock the "test fleet"

Thanks once more Rob.
