Hello,my name is Jason Wilson. I am organising and hosting a ride in support of beyondblue on 24/02/2018.
I have been riding for only a few months and loving it. I come from a martial arts background and have developed a strong and positive mental attitude. I find riding demands the same attributes from your mind. You have to dig in deep mentally.
The ride itself leaves from 73 Elizabeth Way at Northern Sound System to Warland Reserve, Victor Harbor. I was going to do this on my own as a personal challenge but thought,' what a great way to donate to a cause'. Beyondblue came to mind. They do a great job in helping those suffering a quite often silent mental condition.
The registration form that I will post next is linked to my everyday hero page and automatically sends an e mailed receipt to the donator.
A $10 fee is all it costs to participate and is simply a donation that is linked into the registration form.
Im encouraging as many to enter as possible and riders to help pass onto their friends and family for donations.
I have much to organise as yet. I am trying to get a full or partial fee waive for the hire of the reserve. I would like a gathering afterwards with a bbq, drinks and a massage team for riders etc. I have got a couple of drivers with bike carriers for support team but need more. Also marshals and first aid.Im looking for sponsors to get behind me and in return, free advertisement and exposure through the event.
My biggest hurdle is traffic management. Many main roads will be used and I have been in contact with transport sa.
One requirement they need is participant numbers so I am spreading the word and getting the ball rolling. Any help, ideas or involvement will be extremely heart felt and very appreciated.
Overall, I hope to get a great cycling community event that everyone can enjoy. The ride is for beginner right through to advanced.I thank you very much for your time to read this.
