We had some fellow cyclists from Adelaide join us, Colin sorry i didn’t get the other two guys names? We started today on time for once 0730hrs, its been a funny week when we have always tried to roll at a certain time and this never happened. It was a beautiful morning in Tailem Bend, and as we got to Langhorn Creek we had a great tailwind, and we were grouped perfectly. We met Jeremy & AVO at Langhorn Creek on our way to Strathalbyn.

what a brilliant effort Mark. well done to yourself, the other riders and the organizers. it has been truly inspirational reading your tweets each day along with your blog posts.

Is this an annual event? Would love to get involved next year if it is being run

Hi all thanks for your kind words, @Trent yes it is planned to be an annual event after the huge success of raising money at this one!

fantastic! will add that to the goal list for 2013!!!! i am sure you will have many more people along for the ride and fundraising for the cause next year after reading of your adventures.

Amazing effort guys!  Wish I could have been with you too :-)

AVO and I had a great day out meeting and riding with the Ride4Repat team. You wouldnt know they had ridden 800 km the speed they were going when we crossed paths at Langhorne Ck! AVO and I had to time trial to catch up. Was great riding in such a large bunch all the way back to Adl and the Police escort down CrossRd certainly drew a lot of attention. Congrats to all the riders and support crew.

I waited at the bottom of toll gate when the first rider made an apperance, thought i would hang around and wait for all to pass to congratulate... well done to all....i would like to participate next year if it goes around again.

And that last sprint was fun, me and Steven Jenke were tied on sprint pts, so i knew this would be a tough 1. But this is an amazing bunch of people, really its true becuse Steven  rode next to me as we were coming into Strath and he said to me "jump on my tail...ill get you past AVO and i wont challenge you" I thought that is what this ride was all about Comradreship, teamwork and support. WOW! So it was on, AVO lead out and Chewie, Peter Cosh and Dale Wilson were not far behind him ahead of me and Jenke. Suddenly the van veered left! Chewie and Cosh missed the turn off and me and Jenke only just made it by braking a bit sudden and leaning into the corner, as this happened Dale took it as an advantage and he took a breakaway as he also turned into the corner. Jenke ramped up the pace again and i actually had trouble sitting on his backwheel, but managed just. We flew past AVO and then it seemed like we were at crawling pace to keep up with Dale's hummer of a pace. The 50 sign apporached as we got to the bridge crossing, Jenke narrowed it out but Dale took it by about half a bike length and right behind was me still behind Jenke's wheel(because i didnt have anymore burst left) and Jenke just behind Dale. That was a hoot!!

Im getting R4R withdrawals.....

.....but Chewie found a short.cut and made the morning tea before everyone else (lol)...

and broke the Tour Rules hehehe

Yup....but a sudden left turn probably may have taken other riders out....and all roads lead to Strath :)

Well Done to all! what a great effort. I have throughly enjoyed reading all the reports.

cheers
