Not being made of $, nor have i got the space for one of those fancy, large bike stands that clamp the top tube or sit the front forks into, so I've always struggled (and there fore avoided) doing most maintenance on any of my bikes. (no i dont have a clothes line either - a short bench seat was all i used and it kept toppoling over!)
Then at the Bike Workshop i used the Bike Hand. Thougth it was a great idea so i tracked it down...
Its not rocket science, but very handy - It lifts the back wheel off the ground and enables you to use the pedals to spin the wheel.

I use the bike carrier on the back of the car, mind you they would be very handy for people who are allowed to park their bike indoors, saves getting all those knocks and scratches on the wall.

Permalink Reply by Rob (Chewbacca) on September 2, 2011 at 2:30 @ Bec....ask Smudge to show you the nice bike stand he picked up from Torpedo 7, it is stable (which you definitely need to prevent the bike falling over whilst you are working on it)....the stand he has is also foldable :)
