Repainting bicycle

Mum's just moved to the city, and is hoping to ride her bike rather than drive her car. Her bike was banished to a damp shed for 15 years and isn't in very good nick, but she really likes it. It's rusty, needs new tyres, chain, cables and seat, but other than that it seems to be ok. The chromed bits are quite tarnished...

As a pressie, I was thinking I'd get it resprayed for her - any recommendations for where to get it done? She mentioned that she'd like to have the logos and stuff on it still - so they'd need to be (re)produced somehow. The bike's a 3-speed Crescent bike from 1980s Sweden...it's a quite awful turquoise at the moment...shiny red would be great! :)

This would be because the powder coat works on static electricity and the powder would have been drawn to the chain stays in the 'V'. I would bet that the coat is thicker in there than it is in other places.; ▶ Reply to This
