Reckless Cyclists?

I read an article in the Huffington Post about two cyclists being hit by a car and capturing the incident and the car's registration number on a helmet cam.

The posted comments talk about reckless cyclists that were lucky they weren't hit earlier, cutting up cars, running stop signs, riding unsafely, cutting off a cyclist behind who was trying to overtake, all sorts of downright dangerous behaviour.

I looked at the video and I can seeing nothing reckless. Sure the guy filming rolled through a 4 way stop sign intersection but the car driver had stopped and was giving way, maybe the leader had already stopped, you can't tell. And they turn right at a stop sign without stopping, but its into a curb lane and they are going slow with no traffic they need to give way to.

I can see nothing in this video which I wouldn't do. Does anyone think they are being reckless?

I may or may not have a pen that doubles as a letter opener in my daily backpack. I consider it a classy form of protection for when I ride to my mates house in Davoren Park.

It's deterred a few people already, otherwised I'd be a bike or two less. Anyway I'm grabbing myself a real chain soon enough because I haven't opened more than few letters whilst riding.

Shooting back, a display of firepower, as is the custom, always diffused the situation.

... Not that anyone is manufacturing hick strength mace...

before the pepper spray wears off and the rednecks are gunning me down from their confederate flag adorned pickup. Yeah. I'm doomed out there. 

They don't take kindly to euro fag spandex wearing pretty looking men on bicycles out in the boondocks.

Not sure anybody else has pointed this out but this appears to be a one way road. The driver has definitely veered into them and I believe has been charged with a large number of offences. Lucky they were not badly hurt.
