I have just got the cycling bug and was wondering what the performance difference is between the old skool toe clip pedals Vs clipless pedals.....any thoughts?
The original pedals on my Mongoose are flat but have a hard plastic cage that you can slip your toe into, so you can push forward/down as hard as you like without fear of the foot slipping off the pedal but you're not actually strapped in so it's easy to disengage.

The clip pedals are now on my MTB instead of the road bike.
