No signage for Checkers Hill Rd - locals discouraging crazy cyclists from finding it?

For those so inclined. Here is what Checkers Hill Rd looks like

Here is a link to it in Google Maps http://bit.ly/a9M9lN and a map screenshoot

Maybe it has no sign to keep crazy cyclists like us away from it? :)

I presume that Checker Hill road has some sort of crazy ass ascent that only crazy ass cyclists like ourselves would be interested in tackling? (Crazy ass cyclist is an endearing term in my books - I am one)
Haha... look out for that T-Junction at the end!
Speaking of "inclined" Nick, is that shot from the T-Junction the steepest bit right from the start or is the steeper bit further on. Could you, if you are so inclined, describe the road according to the markers on the G-Map for those of us who have not been there yet?

Thanks in advance.
I toke three photos today. The one here was from Little Para Rd (was heading towards Kerrsbrock from Chain of Ponds) looking up Checker Hill Rd.

Here is a little map (all three photos here http://bit.ly/cbTTk0)

This photo isn't the steep bit.
Last time I went up there was a couple of months ago, pretty sure the "Checker" Hill Rd (No s) sign was still there then.. It's a busy road though, wouldn't be suprised if the locals were getting pissed at heaps of cyclists using it... Although I imagine this is nothing new, people have been riding up it for years...

And no, the photo Nick took above isn't even the hill, that's just the start of the road as you turn off of the Kersbrook Rd, it's basically dead flat there... Not for long though!! The photo in his blog is a good one, shows the steep bit in the distance but like most photos/TV it doesn't truely show how steep it is..
Do people really get pissed of about cyclists riding up their road? The only time I can think of this happening was some years ago when Walkerville residents protested about bike direct routes planned for their residential streets. They thought that it would attract an undesirable element. They actually managed to delay the implementation for several months.
Steep is a relative term. Hop on an MTB and check out some of the 4WD tracks on the edge of town.
No thanks. :-D I'll stick to the tarmac thanks, Aaron.
