If you haven't already noticed I have formed a Night Riders Group.. We started off as a Thursday Night group ride starting in Glenelg and ending at Copenhagen in Henley Beach.. This ride has been very successful and last week saw 18 attendees.. Avge speeds on this ride for 40kms are between 28 and 33km/hr.
Last night we had our Maiden Tuesday Night Ride up Lofty.. We had four riders turn up and battle the cold conditions was 4 deg at Lofty when we arrived.. But the view was worth it. No rain and no mist.
A.V.O. even did the ride on his single speed bike.. And still beat me up there. So if you are slow don't let that put you off. We were very cautious descending as we are aware of the wildlife that may want to come and see us.
I was quite surprised as to how well lit the Freeway was. I would have to put last nights ride right up there with the best.
So to all of you who aren't riding much lately too wet, cold, dark etc... come and join us. You will need good lights and warm layers for the descent.
I had a few interested last night to join us but the 6.30pm meet up was a little early. So before I book the ride for Tuesday Night if you are interested in joining us what time would be reasonable for you to join us at the Toll Gate. The earliest the ride can be is 6.30pm to allow for riders to come from work.
Just having a dig ;-) Looks like you are going to get a good sized crew together for this one. Might come out for a spin one day on Tues or Thursday night. AVO reports Thursday is a real hoot.
DD you can be our pace man. Thursday Nights are a lot of fun
Sue thanx for the imput would love you to join us also
Any time suits me if I'm not working. We've got plenty of enthusiastic evening riders for just about every week night. In a couple of weeks I'm thinking of posting a Monday night ride from The Buffalo to Lofty for those interested?
That's the plan Rob. It should make the Grand Slam 200km in Oct a "cakewalk"
Hi Bec - are you still heading out tonight? If so, I wont do the fast push back as i need to save my legs for this weekend...
