Nice Bike enjoy.

same bike as Chris?

Nice one. I looked at the Quantum 2 beginning last year and was talked onto the Cadent 2. Which has been (and still is) great - but I've changed from a chameleon to a snake, pretty much. So now a Quantum would be better. sigh…

Great bikes. Enjoy. Post pics. Its red/black and white by memory?

Yeah it is that colour scheme.

So when do we get to see it in the flesh - are you coming on any of the rides 'down south' over the weekend?

If the weather is half decent ill be on the winter ride.
Its actually your fault ive bought it too, phil. After having a look at your carbonated bike I suddenly contracted upgraditis.

i finally picked up the new bike and took it for a quick ride this evening. felt very nice. there is a difference in the smoothness compared to my last bike. i thought the tyres might have been a bit flat, so noticable was the effect- but they were nice and pumped up. the electric gearshift is quite cool. definately want different gearing though. 39/23 isn't what my little chicken legs are made for!

looking forward to the ride on sunday.

39/53 is the same ratio I have. you'll get used to it. looks like an amazing bike Simon. congrats mate. enjoy it.

thank you. the 39/53 i can deal with, but it only has 23 as the largest rear sprocket. fine for strong people, i'm sure, but i have the muscle mass of a 10yr old girl(when compared to a regular fit adult male)

i was told that a 25-11 would work without needing a longer chain, but not a 27-11. correct?

Not sure about the chain. I run 11-27 rear I think. Works ok. get good top speed.
