According to Cycling News 5 former teammates have given evidence alleging that Armstrong doped, in exchange for a 6 month ban (which coincidentally doesn't start until the end of the season).

Sounds fishy to me.....and could be a few tense moments in the peleton today.

The fact that Hincapie and Leipheimer have all issued "no comments" to pretty much every question asked of them makes me think they have provided some kind of information to the investigators. I can see a very large ship starting to sink and small furry rodents leaping for their lives.....

couldnt have said it better myself! If they had nothing to hide then they would have come out and said "what the hell is going on" and refuted the reports. USADA have got something on each of them and have cut deals. Shows that you never know who your friends are!

Let's see how it all turns out, I still believe Lance is clean. The 5 cyclists might be under team instructions to say "no comment" during the TDF.

+1 Innocent until proven guilty.

the journo the "broke" the story has come out and reaffirmed the accuracy but USADA has also come out and said that no individual case has been finalised.

getting messy!!! or messier!

Like the others have said, we'll never really know the truth. The guy leading the case against LA (according to heresay) was the leader of the original case that was dropped. Perhaps he has an axe to grind over lost credibility in himself?

Sadly it is highly probably that quite a few sports 'heroes' are just cheats, not just in cycling but all sports. Some just want to be the best at any price, but that's the society they've grown up in. They probably cheated at school too... Life teaches them that cheating really pays - you get to the top with less effort and reap the big bucks & fame. After all, money & fame is what it is all about - right?

A bit of a read, and nothing really new, but interesting none the less.

Really really interesting article! Some things in there that I hadnt read before. Long article but certainly worth the read

"The success of USADA’s case will be based on their ability to build enough evidence to support a “non-analytical positive” – proof of doping that doesn’t rely on a positive test."

= threaten some of Armstrong's former team members with punishment if they don't drop him into it......sounds like a form of bullying to me :)

Wow, I dont think the judge took too kindly to LA's law suit. Unfortunately I think this is going to turn into a bit of a circus, if it isnt already.

"This Court is not inclined to indulge Armstrong's desire for publicity, self-aggrandizement or vilification of Defendants, by sifting through eighty mostly unnecessary pages in search of the few kernels of factual material relevant to his claims."

The Court claimed that the lawsuit filed earlier in the day contained "allegations" which were separate to the case and therefore "the Court must presume, were included solely to increase media coverage of this case, and to incite public opinion against Defendants."

A footnote on the documents states the following:

"Contrary to Armstrong's apparent belief, pleadings filed in the United States District Courts are not press releases, internet blogs, or pieces of investigative journalism. All parties, and their lawyers, are expected to comply with the rules of this Court, and face potential sanctions if they do not."
