Ridiculous situation this... Not sure if you know but McGee was actually representing a client at the time this accident happened against the same charges he faced in his trial... the other driver he was representing ended up in jail. Just sayin'... different strokes for different folks. bit sad really.
I was somewhat repulsed reading the Tiser this morning and seeing the defence's attempt to have the matter stayed. Then I read the names of the defence barristers and wasn't so repulsed anymore...*ahem*. Nothing surprises me about those individuals.
This is one instance where the law has really failed cyclists, intentionally or not. I couldn't handle still facing court 6 years after an event as tragic as this and I admire Ms Gilchrist for still hanging on.
This is one that I'm not following too closely, mostly for professional reasons. Sometimes I just can't control my temper...:)
