Clearly then it is important to look at such potential leaders in the lead up to elections and vote accordingly - also let 'em know. Pester the bastards!

With a surname like Ford of course he's going to be pro car. Ford looks like a typical over fed politician who's spent a bit of time at the trough.

Closer to home. I watched ABC 7.30 Report QLD on ch 24. The Labor candidate for Brisbane mayor spoke of 'wasting' money on cycling facilities. Glad the Liberal candidate was elected.

That's bizarre. Aren't the Labor party traditionally the more 'progressive' of the major two?

Alasdair, I was surprised that a Labor politician publicly expressed that view. If he thought it would win him votes from motorists, fortunately did not work.

Yes the Labour Party is really progressive. They're dicking with super regulations so people like me who are willing to fund their own retirement have less incentive to do so. Making more people reliant on the state n their retirement..now that's really progressive.

You know what the problem is with political jokes? They get elected!

Thank God we have Stephen Yarwood!

And Christopher Pyne......

Oh sorry, i though u wanted examples of jokes!

Slip(per) of the tounge?

Yes there are many political jokes!

It is quite possible that if Mr Ford spends enough time 'at the trough' he'll develop any one of a number of clogged artery diseases. Which could easily be avoided if he rode a bike. Karma I suppose …

Imagine if is lunacy was so hated, that cyclists from all over the world held a huge 'critical mass' there
