Had a slight incident with a car on the way home tonight, statistically my number came up. Unley road is not my usual route home but tonight I thought needed a change, break the routine they say. Well a 35km impact into the side of a old KIA breaks it up alot. The main thing is the Oppy has survived, the owner of said Oppy is cursing and his right side ribs are bruised, oh, and his elbow has multiple cuts from putting it thorough a KIA windscreen. I would like to acknowledge Lucy, the girl on the bike who saw it I think.

Patrick and Angus,
A study states that cycling collisions are under reported. Would anyone like to start an AC group for reporting cycling collisions? Cyclists may learn from it but also road authorities and researchers.
Well it's the morning after and I'm up and at work. Feeling a tad sore but functioning. Yes I will report it to the police, no I did not get all of his details, just name and mobile no. I don't believe I have any broken ribs as I can breath easily with any stabbing pain. I think I will steer clear of Unley Rd, from now on.
Now's the time to race him up the Freeway for a carton Jim. get in quick though.
So sorry to hear aout this Alistair - hope the body and bike heal quickly. I'm getting a bit frightened about the number of crashes and near-misses that are happening lately... I'd definitely encourage you to report your incident to the police.
Hi Alistair
Sorry to hear about your prang. I hope you don't lose your nerve over this. Unley Road is a bad for driving on and it looks like hell for cycling. Might have to stick with Duthy Street for the commute - but there are still hazards in that route too.
hope we'll see you back on the bike soon.
pete
