I was in a large newsagent the other day and I couldn't believe how many cycling magazines are available.

There is the new Treadlie in its 2nd which you may have seen but there was also another new Australian (or rebadged Aust) one which I am trying to recall was either Cycling (in the pic with Flat Bar Bikes heading) or Bicycleing (get back in shape).

Then there are the MTB ones - MBR, Spoke, and the BMX ones and a range of 'green' transportation cyclists mags like the hard to find ''Bicycle Times' (in pic), Ride On from BikeVic, Australian Cyclist.

Then the sports ones like Ride Review and Bicycling Australia and throw into the mix Cycle Sport (UK) and the one I was excited to see here Peloton (bottom right) which is a new US publication I came across on the web offering an electronic subscription and for only US$12.99 for 6 issues so as an iPad user I thought that was an absolute bargain especially for a high quality intelligent OS publication I thought I would never see here but low and behold here it is at a Norwood Newsagent. This one has Eddie Merckx on the over but the newest one has Andy Schleck. Now I just wish Rouleur Magazine would be more available here.

How can all these mags survive?

A final word must go to my other favourite. The Melbourne coffee and cycling scene mag 'The Wheeler'. I subscribe because it's not available through agents but I did see some free copies at Bocelli's.

So much to read when it's cold and dark outside this winter.

The one positive I take from all this is that the interest in cycling is going through the roof which is great. I personally don't buy these magazines but the shops wouldn't stock them if they didn't sell. For the people who do buy them, good luck to them.
I still get Australian Cyclist via my BISA membership but I think I've gone a bit stale with magazines in general, used to buy a few including UK ones but got bored. I had my most recent AC delivered 2 weeks ago and I'm still not halfway through it but I think that particular mag has dropped the ball over the last 3 or so years following the loss of 2 excellent editors.
And out of (BISA) interest what would you like in replacement with your BISA subs? and would it bother you if it was quarterly?
Definately not something devoted to racing. Touring, commuting, reviews and more about our own state.
Angus, I am a BISA member and quite happy with Australian Cyclist. Whatever the magazine, I would not like a magazine that concentrates on one type of cycling.
Just I got 2books Bicycle maintenance and TREADLIE.
First one show me about bike mntnce with picture. It can help me to understand. I saw second book the first time. This magazine show me old fashion style bike include bamboo bike....
