Was in my LBS here in Stirling this morning and got told they're getting rid of alot of their Bianchi stock....alot of the bikes are going out the door at cost.
If it wasn't for the fact Ive just quit my job and am into semi-retirement Id have walked out the door with one of the bikes.
Worth checking out if youre coming through Stirling

...and no threat of eviction by SWMBO if I bring home another bike...!
What kinds of bikes and what costs? I am looking for a possible summer bike

Sounds like as good a deal as you are likely to get.
Permalink Reply by Martin Turner on June 9, 2012 at 19:33 Don this is not an annual end of financial year stock reduction......it's more of a permanent reduction in stock. Have a talk to Kim for the reasons but don't mention the internet or he'll start getting very animated.
Permalink Reply by Peter Hill on June 10, 2012 at 12:24 this time of year is always the best time to buy heavily discounted bikes as shops make way for the next season's models.
Yesterday for instance I went to a Kensington Road bike shop and saw a beautiful Avanti for $4599 marked down from about $10K. If they had a bike my size I could have come pretty close to a materialist dilemna.

what next? Pete Hill wearing Lycra nicks?
Permalink Reply by Peter Hill on June 10, 2012 at 20:55 you'll be glad to know Roger I will be going up Mt lofty tomorrow on the hybrid, with semi-knobblies, looking like complete amateur-hour. Might even still have the flat peddles and sandshoes if I can't be arsed putting spd pedals on. My shed is full, and the house is out of bounds for bikes, so no purchases and no change in blood-types.
but the again...I'm pissed off with the never ending broken spokes on the specialized and I think i have just broken a bottom bracket on the usually trustworthy Avanti Blade. A new bike would solve aaallllll those problems. Won't they?
Permalink Reply by Richard on June 10, 2012 at 22:19 Hmm, if I bought a carbon roadie cheap, I could pick up an ENO (eccentric) hub and convert it to fixed gear while using the groupset on the Europa (she's got rather dated kit now). Might almost work. The only problem is ... why on earth would I want a carbon fibre frame?
