Mate of mine is revving me up to enter the 6hr enduro, problem is my MtBike is 6yrs old and hammered, his is brand spanking new and weighs less than many carbon roadies! Still, I can get my bike fixed, and the cat6 points (MtBike version) would be pure gold (assuming I can dish out the pain). Dang the conundrums of life!

Where? CUDLEE CREEK FOREST, NEAR ADELAIDE
When? 5/6 May 2012
What? NiteFlux 24Hr or 12Hr or Roof Rack City 6Hr MOUNTAIN BIKE CHALLENGE
Difficulty? 10km loop of medium to hard singletrack, some technical bits, lots of fun!

While most mountain bike events are all about your sprint skills and being the first across the line, Bike SA'S Kona Dirty Weekend mountain bike challenge is designed to have you, your support crew and spectators enjoying themselves as you put your stubbornness to the test and grind out lap after lap, beyond what you thought you could achieve.

Last year, Bike SA welcomed the involvement of the newly formed South Australian Mountain Biking Association (SAMBA), and they'll be abck again as the track gurus for the 2012 Kona Dirty Weekend.

"This lived up to my expectations of a dirty weekend. It was my first MTB event and it was great fun. Rode with the boys and it was a blast" Ryan

Ive won the 24hr solo overall there a couple of times. Great fun weekend for sure.

Biggest tip I can give for any solo event over 3minutes is to go out at a pace you can maintain for the entire duration. Your last lap should be as fast as your first as long as the course didnt become muddy like it did in 2008 lol!
