We all have an opinion about Clipsal. The one that made me laugh was referring to big boys seeing who has the fastest Hot Wheels (toy) car.

Then there is the fuelled up aggression and general abuse of cyclists but Edward from Bike Adelaide blog has a different opinion on Clipsal and road closures. It's actually a good thing for cycling in Adelaide.

Each year, when the Clipsal 500 race is on, quite a few roads around the eastern parklands are closed and all of those motorists coming from the eastern suburbs and beyond have to find an alternative route. It is not a bad time to cycle to work. Not that you want to be all smug while traffic is at a standstill but because it is travelling so slowly, cycling feels much safer and more pleasant than usual. This was the view behind me this morning on Frome Street. All that traffic was hardly moving.

Sorry but the full moon effect is a myth.

http://www.skepdic.com/fullmoon.html

I have seen the full moon affect on some people.

Posted on AC recently that a psych nurse notices that more admissions during a full moon, or current patients more restless.

Had another great day at Clipsal, what a great event! Now back on the bike tomorrow

Nothing like a bit of high-performance action!

Wish we still had the Adelaide Le Mans (sp?) I *really* enjoyed that. The night racing was very spectacular.

Fireworks at the Clipsal tonight should be fun, might have to drive into Kent Town to watch!

I actually like watching motor racing but.....

Friday night in Rundle Mall:
Bogan: "Hey mate, mate.. Holden or Ford mate??
Me: "Ummm...Orbea?"
Bogan: "Huh?... [thinks...] Or yeah mate, isnt  he the new driver for the ### team?"
Sigh...
