Hello fellow AC's
I have recently started educating my 2 and 6 year old to music other than kids stuff.
The current favourite in the car is 'Bicycle Race' off Queen's greatest hits 1.
Just a thought....with the TDF on, is this song the best song ever about cycling?
Any others you all know of ?
My little boy in particular now asks for the song to be put on every time he is in the car.
My daughter laughs and says it reminds her of me on my bike....
Maybe i need to put a bell back on !..........

I say most categorically yes. Written while actually watching the tour go by and has quite possibly imho the best video ever made to go with it. Particularly if you are a bloke. Queen rule OK!

"Daisy, Daisy... Bicycle Built for Two". Sung by Hal.
Not quite the best song - but the most memorable
Only remembered though by old f*rts like myself, who watched 2001 - a space odyssey in the 60s and 70s. .

My Favourite by far is 'Motorcrash' by The Sugarcubes (Bjork lead singer)
A great retro jersey in this clip!
Björk
Riding on my bicycle
I saw a motorcrash
A proper motorcrash
Lots of spectators
I rushed to the center
Saw the injured parents
Cuts on the children
An awful motorcrash
So dangerous motorcrash
So terribly bloody
Motorcrash
Destructive motorcrash
I took the mother
Sneaked with her secretly
All the way to my home
And nursed her gently
I put on her bandages, gave her
Milk and biscuits
She sighed pleasantly after this
Awful motorcrash
So dangerous, dangerous
Motorcrash
Awful motrocrash
Destructive motorcrash
Einar
That girl on that bicycle
Showed great interest
In all the motorcrashes in the neighbourhood
She look quite innocent
Björk
Then we disguised ourselves
Took a taxi to her home
When her husband answered the door
She introduced herself
He said where have you been all this time?
Einar
Believe you-me
I know what inoccent looks like
She showed great interest
After she got that bicycle

Wait’s voice is as grizzled as the road you ride on. Here, he uses bicycles as a metaphor for love lost, refusing to give up painful memories no matter how tangled or twisted they might be.
