I caught and passed another cyclist today!

- I wasn't on my electric-assist bike.

- The cyclist wasn't a child.

- The cyclist wasn't really old.

- The cyclist hadn't broken down.

They were riding a MTB on the bike path that leads through Sheidow Park to the Veloway.  They were even dressed for cycling!

Probably some poor bugger on his first cycle after a heart bypass - but I don't care!

I caught and passed another cyclist today!

I'm very excited.

Did the guy have both his wrists in plaster???

I think if Jim was cycling and saw a custom cargo-bike gaining on him I would have no chance of passing him!

Simon

Did you turn off at the nearest corner (just in a nick of time)?

No - I was cycling to work (FMC).

Of course it's also possible he was cycling to Melbourne - but I don't care!

I caught and passed another cyclist today (and I'm very excited if you can't tell)!

I know how you feel, I only stated riding just over 12 months ago and remember as clear as day my first pass going up a hill (Norton's)

Nice work mate!

Love doing this on a cargo bike ;-)

Well done!

I must admit to being totally chuffed as I passed a zillion others the other day riding from Norwood to Strathalbyn - always a great feeling. Of course I too was passed by many but not as many a I passed :-)

I remember the 1st time I was the passer rather than the passed. That 60-70ish year old woman made me so happy. Soon I started bragging about passing 'age-appropriate' cyclists, then 'equipment appropriate' cyclists.

Now I have to choke down the urge to compete every time I see a fellow cyclist on the road. I am still frequently passed by other riders though, but a lot less often than a year ago.

I have races with other cyclists all the time. They don't know about it, but I do :)

Way to go Simon! I'm right on your wavelength. I had a similar experience last week and I'm still smiling

 :-))

I chased and caught a cyclist one evening on the Veloway. He looked like he was going pretty hard and I was chuffed to bits when I caught him and thanked him for inspiring me to a fast time. He looked down his nose at me, went up a couple of gears and left me for dead on the next section. still I  got my PB to Noarlunga that day so I was happy
Funny same thing happened to me yesterday although it turns out that they actually slowed down so I could catch up.... I've got some work to do.
