"Oh! I do like to be beside the seaside
I do like to be beside the sea!
I do like to stroll upon the Prom, Prom, Prom!
Where the brass bands play:
"Tiddely-om-pom-pom!"
So just let me be beside the seaside
I'll be beside myself with glee"
Five riders braced the chilly morn' to start the ride from Prices and were duly rewarded with a perfect day for riding. Some newspapers down the front of the shirt would have been handy this morning on the descent down onto the plains, which once again saw Roger descending like a demon! Carl took the charge and was our ride leader and did a great job of keeping a steady pace rolling along. A nice steady 30kph was kept until St Kilda road where strava glory was up for grabs (and won). After a rest down at the seaside we made our way back towards Golden Grove and the climb up the Grove Way. Five happy riders chilled out at Prices Bakery and refuelled prior to going their separate ways home. All in all, a great ride.
St Kilda
Paul, Carl, Mick, and Roger.
Above all, just smile!
Heading back...
Photographic proof, all who started finished! :-)

Two glorious cycling mornings in a row! See you next week
Permalink Reply by Roger ... on April 29, 2012 at 15:03 Paul and I were riding home when we stumbled across Wynn Vale Drive (down and up) and what a view they have from up there! We also rode a little hill in a back street called Quality Court ... if you had ridden with us after coffee you could have climbed the hill a 3rd time.. lol
Permalink Reply by Carl Neadley on April 29, 2012 at 15:10 Pass..............If you stop at the oval on Wynn Vale Drive and ride the perimeter path to the southern end there is a spectacular view of the city (is that a contradiction of terms?). Maybe you should go and have a quick look and then you can tell me what it's like after three ascents in succession. The area you're talking about is very good for short steep hill work - when I'm feeling masochistic I'll sometimes do the "Tour de Cul-de-sac" up and down these roads - gives you quite a work out (well, gives ME quite a work out.......!)

I was hoping you would have saved this ride for next week, anyway not to many hills for next Sunday Pretty Please
Paracombe loop next week and all hills, Gemma must have been thinking about you Clive. Nice loop today, no time for fishing at St Kilda and then nice climb back up to Price's (**** nearly said Jaspers).
Looking foward to the next time I can ride.
