I've mapped out the loops according to the draft map on the Bike SA website, just under 7 weeks to go until the event...
Loop 1 : http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/104027093 (72km, 705m climbing)
Loop 2: http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/104027635 (72km, 415 climbing)

I don't remember seeing them in the draft maps :(
Permalink Reply by Matt Brennan on June 18, 2012 at 20:47 oooooooo I think loop 2 takes in some of this years BUPA ride - that was a magic leg.

Loop 2 = 894m of climbing
Hmm so who is right, a cat 3 climb at an average of 3.5% does that sound right for cat 3?
Permalink Reply by Phil Crick on June 19, 2012 at 9:41 depends on the distance, but at 3.5% I wouldn't have thought so. I was surprised to see a cat 5 climb on there - does that even exist in the rest of the world or was it something made up for all the flat places?
It looks like a good challenge either way, wouldnt mind doing both loops, I better start earning my leave pass points :-)

Permalink Reply by Michael Wetherley on June 21, 2012 at 20:09 Loop 1 is Galwer Wheeler country for sure we ride those roads all the time. Kent road is a long climb but nothing to hard. I didnt do the last GS but it sounded a lot more challenging. Im really looking forward to this one.
At this stage I intend riding from home which will put me over the 200km for the day cool!!
