Well wasn't that fun weather?......NOT

Headwind, sideways rain then more wind....great cross winds too!

I reckon i had a tailwind for less than five minutes on loop 1....

Was going to do both but the body said no...

I really appreciated the multiple people who used me as a wind break without returning the favour too! I think the record was someone sat behind a good twenty minutes....i even tried to get him to pass.

Looks like mini slam for me only now.....

I had a sleep in :-)

No bragging rights for me.

For me, sadly, I have been unable to ride this one. ( First GS I have missed since I started back on my bike a few years ago )

I have been 'Off' the bike since I put my back out a couple of weeks ago, so I am planing a 'catch up' ride when I am fit again.

Right now, I have seen 90 year old's look fitter than I feel. ( feeling very sorry for myself at the moment :(

Kudos to all those who braved the weather today. It looks disgusting out there...

Yeah, not much fun... and with the winds and rain loop 2 wasn't much easier, though Gumeracha to Mt Pleasant did provide a tailwind.  Thought I was going to get blown off the bike a few times, particularly at the top of Hill Road then on the approach to Springton.

Body said no on several occasions.  I passed a few riders over the last 30km who had hit the wall.  Real tough day at the office.

Oh, and I'm not afraid to admit to leaching a wheel or two in loop 1 to conserve some energy for loop 2... ;)

very tough ride for myself... managed to get a 4 person train for the last 30 odd k's of loop 1 that certainly helped out big time.  Loop 2 rode with Adam, was looking for you to join in Pete :) and it was damn hard work.   Conditions just plain ordinary.  The last 30k of loop 2 was a killer...  BOM reports gusting wind over 60kph at Mt Crawford and we were pretty much trying to ride straight into it.   The route would have been fantastic had it been calm and sunny.  Glad it's over and I'm home laying on the couch.  :)

Yep the last 20Ks after we turned out of Springton were a real test ! Fierce headwind ,,bucketing rain and some decent hills to climb ( you gotta love a challenge ? )

Loved to have helped out today, but I have spent the last week camped out on my concrete floor, trying to straighten out my crooked back :/

sorry to hear Pete...hopefully it repairs itself quickly..

Didn't ride this one but raced at Burra! Bloody windy as headwinds, crosswinds all the way, first time actually felt the bike leaning sideways in the crosswind

Did you have your clincher on?

Much the same across the top of Hill Road and again approaching Springton, the later on a descent at about 50kph - thought I'd lose it.

Wibd, rain and cold were strong adversaries but in the end cramp joined in but still managed to conquer all these and finish the 150 km....bring on the Grand Slam 200 in October....who is coming ?

I saw you sail past a couple of times at the rest spot and end of loop 1 but didnt get a chance to say hello, great effert Rob, count me in for GS5 and hope the weather is kinder.
