Ps please pardon the not so smart phone typing above

Sounds encouraging.

It be great if there were 3 groups again, 32, 38-40 and 45+.

The medium group has become too fast so there are now a lot of riders in the slow group mixing it up with faster boys who find it hard to stay on 32 and keep pushing the speed up.

Lets all not forget that its meant to be a joy ride and depending on skill and strangth etc one can pick its group.

Best wishes again to those that got hurt.

Last winter when I had been riding only for 6 months I rode with the medium group from Scuzzi a few of times, but was dropped a couple of times and even when I hung on, I found the whole paceline in the dark in heavy traffic particularly down grange rd terrifying. I wasn't up to standard and so didnt return, I may now be confident, and competetnt enough to return but to be honest I have found groups that push my ability without the machismo that i encountered on Scuzzis.

I do hope that they guys heal well, but this is the risk even in professional pace lines, we all know it and if you do these rides, willingly, you take the risk. It sounds like a simple poor judgement choice at the front compounded as it move back through the line. No evil cars or drivers, no obvious risky cyclist behaviours, but a genuine accident.

May the bones heal well and the insurance pay out quickly for new bikes :)
