it was rather interesting not too long after 6, greenedge showed up, one rider, one managing director. They had some interesting, in depth stuff to talk about, not just, we're a new team go us.
I am glad I registered, not!
Got there at 5:55pm, stood in the 50 person long queue, was told at 6:10pm that GreenEdge was arriving at 6:30pm, and I was welcome to huddle around the door entrance on the footpath to watch/hear them. So I went and ate dinner at Madame Wu's instead.
They knew how small the store was, yet they kept taking registrations - it smelt of a thinly veiled attempt to get people on a mailing list.
Hi fellow ACs, yes, I lined up, like a teen waiting for a nightclub to let me in. What a fool...
When the bouncers let us in, it was exactly as you described Whippet. Hot stuffy etc. The fact that we were registered suggested to me that we were assured of a place. They should have been ticking off names and allowing only those on the list. Instead, every Tom, Dick and Harry was there and there was no apparent rhyme or reason for their allowing too many in.
Very late to start, and when it did, there was a bit of interesting stuff.
When finally it came to prizes, they were not drawn from registered entries. My brother who was registered early on, didn't get inside and he could not have even heard the lame questions that were made up on the spur of the moment, as he was standing outside, so was excluded from even having a chance.
I think you are on the money Easytiger, when you say that it is a thinly veiled attempt to get us all on a mailing list.
and after all that, the major prize should have been redrawn. If you aren't there, no prize.
Why? It clearly stated on the email that all who RSVPed would go in the draw.
Because the Terms & Conditions page stated you had to be there to receive the prize.
indeed it does say that, but really is anyone going to approach them? and the next winner will 'of course i was there'...
they needed a bigger venue, but all that for 1 rider, 1 director & 15 mins of talking
Spent all of yesterday with my kids & nephews first mingling with riders at Unley then following the tour down to Victor, by the time we got home & ate I couldn't be bothered going. Looks like I didn't miss much.
glad that I had a better offer that night. screw 2XU
