Garmin Edge 500 custom bar mount
Hi guys,
I'm after one of these or similar. K-Edge Garmin Edge 500 custom bar mount. anyone know where I can get one??

I dont think you would need to change anything from the head design you already have, just the mounting system. Rather than needing two exact holes to match a stem, and as many stem bolt spacing is different, perhaps a slotted plate could be used to screw the stem bolts through? (assuming they were long enough and didnt comprimise the integrity of the faceplate of the stem if the bolts werent in far enough due to the thickness of the slotted plate)
I guess one small problem I see if using the stem bolts, is it may be an issue if you have a lot of rise on the stem as its angle would determine the mounting angle of the Garmin. Having it attached to the handlebars allows you to rotate it up and down for optimal positioning.

easily over come that by having it in 2 parts. The main unit as seen in photo but with a convex top where the slot is and the second part is the stem itself with a concave bottom where the slot is so it it can rotate between the 2 parts. Only requires 1 additional bolt.

Can be anodised any colour, Im not sure about this design so will hold off for now, If anybody would like to borrow and test the prototype on a bike let me know ? The bolt pitch is 21mm ?

applaud your effort Jim, i am out of action otherwise i would test it for you. I would increase the pitch by making the two barrel sections slotted so you have a total of 5-6mm variation to allow for all headstems (as per Tims suggestion), looks great any idea on price yet??

Cool, take some photo's!
I rang Cell today to check on the progress of the K-edge ones, they are due "any day this week" and will be dispatched immediately. Was hoping to take it on its maiden voyage this WOMGiE, but looking doubtful now.

Will take some snaps tonight... Might not get to give it a try until the weekend - damn the Olympics, that combined with the TDF has totally screwed up my sleep pattern for early rides before work these days!
