haha, what classic pics. I suspect getting airborne is basically what would happen if enough thrust was applied going up hill.

These guys have got balls to strap a rocket to their bike and hope for the best with a leather helmet and some goggles.

A pulse jet on the back of a bike video - here

Hilarious - isn't human nature great?!

Think I'll stick to tail winds for my propulsion. :-)

I saw a different type of vintage cycling yesterday. A man cycling east along Ward Street in North Adelaide, then turned left / north into Margaret Street. Only had time to notice his tweed jacket and the front mudguard with attached mud-flap. Had forgotten about mud-flaps until I saw this. With the tweed jacket, wondered about Smudge who organises AC tweed rides.

I guess you buy them from ACME like Wile e coyote?

For every action there is a reaction....pretty basic principle really.

Love the heat shield/bum protection in pic 1

Qantas offers free newspapers on its city flyer flights...this guy also doesn't want to miss out on keeping up with the latest news during his flight.

A bit cold to be out selling icecreams...
