FOCUS Crossfire Cup- have some dirty fun in the city this weekend!

Race one of this Winter's cyclocross season kicks off this Saturday morning with Race 1 of the FOCUS Crossfire Cup.

This is by far the most 'accessible' racing you can find, it doesn't matter what bike you are on and how fast you are we have a grade and category for everyone. Races vary in duration from 5 mins for little kidz, through to 45min for A-grade Men. Yes, panniers and unicycles are welcome! About half the people riding in these events have never raced before. And with the exception of about 5 people in SA, CX is completely new to almost everybody!

You can enter the whole winter series of 4 races for only $30 (that's right only $7.50 per race) and if you haven't got a CA or MTBA license you can get a 3-race permit for $44 to cover you and you're good to go. So no excuses!  If you have a child aged 3-11 you can sign them up with PACC for only $16 for a year (they get a cool membership card and everything) and they can race for free (they get lolly hand-ups too) so it's a great family activity packed into one morning.

Sign-on and course practice is at 9am, the first race kicks off at 10, and the super fast blokes finish up at 12:30pm.  We've got a BBQ so if you want to stop by for a look & grab something to eat , proceeds to go the Trott Park Fencing Club.

So see what the course is like, this video covers much of Saturday's Course, if you can ride on parklands paths , maintenance tracks and grass you are good enough to race.  It doesn't have any single track or difficult terrain like MTB:

some run knobblies, and believe it or not the fastest guys are running almost slick tyres (file tread with small side hook knobs) in some conditions.
