First commute

Hi all

Just wanted to share I did my first commute to work. It was 5.6km one way and am looking forward to the ride back after work

This a great community here and am happy to have found this site

Hope everyone is having a good day(yes I might have a bit of endorphin flooding happening right now :p)

Good job! You're right about the endorphins, I feel so much cheerier on the mornings I ride my bike into work.

Well done on what was probably the coldest morning of the year so far. On such a beautiful sunny day it will leave you feeling really great all day for doing it.

Welcome fellow commuter my return ride is 50km. Nice and fresh to start your first commute, another car off the road or less time waiting for a bus that never comes, Door to door is always good I hope the place where you finished up has good facilities for showering and changing

Thanks guys. Yeah thankfully there is shower here, is a bit pokey and bruised my elbow on the protruding coat hanger on the back of the door. Not gonna commute everyday due to needing car during work days sometimes but I am aiming for 2-3times per week initially and then working up to 5 days later in the year

You should join some AC riders this Sunday on our social ride starting from Bocelli on the corner of Wakefield and Hutt at 08.30 (get there earlier if you want a warming coffee first). We guarantee to look after newbies on this ride.

Thanks. Such a positive response to my first thread :) Atm I play korfball sundays so am trying to take it easy Sunday morns but when the season finishes if you could keep me in mind im keen :)
