Ride Summary

It has sold over 20 million copies, it has taken the world by storm and everyone is talking about this year’s best seller! This week we are giving away a copy of “Fifty Shades of Grey” to one lucky reader…(see later on how to enter). We actually thought it was a book about Interior Decorating….apparently not!

They say that variety is the spice of life and we certainly spiced up today’s Gawler Wheelers ride by riding one of our traditional routes in the reverse direction to normal. We knew that the weather was going to be ideal for riding today but it far and away exceeded our expectations. 40 riders decided to make the most of the dry and calm conditions.

Spot on 7.30 we all grasped our handle-bars and headed off on the first two legs to Sandy Creek & Lyndoch. We had a couple of brief visits from the puncture fairy, however we made great time in view of the excellent conditions. It was also fantastic riding from Lyndoch to Tanunda and we arrived at Gomersal Rd in no time.

Riding Gomersal Road always involves pain and pleasure….what would it be like in the reverse direction? The riders will comment later on that, although the general consensus was that even the ascents were pleasurable today. The spin back to Gawler was an absolutely ecstatic experience with speeds of well over 40kph.

Our local hero, Jack Bobridge, commences his quest for Olympic Gold next week. Today his Dad, Kahl, rode with us. We asked Kahl how Jack’s preparation was going and he replied:

“I spoke to Jack yesterday and he said that it is all going to plan. He is in his best form ever! Jack said that it is all coming together at the right time and we are up for the GOLD!”

Thanks for riding with us today Kahl and give our best wishes to Jack and the Aussie team when you see them in London.

NEXT WEEK:

We will be holding two concurrent GW rides…a HILLS ride and a BEGINNERS HILL ride. Details will be posted on AC Events soon. YOU are welcome to join us.

Thank you also to all who rode with us today. We don’t think that there is anything in “Fifty Shades of Grey” that could be better than the sensational ride we experienced today…(although we have not read the book so we stand to be corrected!!) Some of the GW members have already read it as you will see from this video of our recent GW RPM class!

TO WIN THE BOOK "FIFTY SHADES OF GREY":

Everyone who posts a comment on this ride report will go in to the draw to win the book. The winner will be drawn at next week’s GW ride….and the book will be posted to the winner, (if not on the ride), in plain paper wrapping!

(Keep the reply comments “G” rated please).

fifty shades of grey.

Do I now need a consent form sighed by my wife to attend a GW ride?

We don't post any detail of the real juicy stuff that happens on the GW rides Don! Just tell her that you are going for a ride with that bunch from the country!

You are in the draw Don....your wife will love the book...it's all the women who are buying it (apparently!)

What happens on the (GW) ride, stays on the ride...   :)

50 Shades of Grey .....Elizabeth Style..

Even though he only had one tattoo I yearned for him to fill the lonely hours between Jerry Springer and Days of our Lives. As he approached me with his pasty white arms hanging out of his Nike vest, his smile told me that it was dole day and I knew that my velour track suit would be hanging off the lampshade tonight. As I stood in line at the job centre,... thinking of reasons why I couldn't work, a sweet smell drifted past my pig like nostrils. It was a mixture of weed, sweat and Lynx Africa! I turned and there he was, DWAYNE, with his pants half way down his arse, our eyes met and he was soon lifting me onto the wheelie bins behind Woolies. He had already tied his Staffy to a post in the alley way so we would not be disturbed, there was a tramp watching but it did not bother us, just added to the mystery. I knew then that this was love and my life would never be the same again. I made a promise to him there and then that I would buy him a plasma with the baby bonus.

HE HE HE.....love it....you been smoking smothing this arvo Chris!!

(PS ...I expect Caroline to comment seeing she has read the book!!)

I must have had a sheltered life I dont have a tattoo,

I don't have a plasma TV ether :-)

Don Thats what you get when you spend too much time amongst the Woolies wheelie bins.

LOL Chris.

lol

50 whats of what?

Mark Mark Mark!! You are in the draw mate.....if you win the book all will be revealed....(you will thank us!)
