Tanya, I think I join with the rest of the cycling fraternity in offering our hearfelt sympathies to you and your family.
Your dad would have had the same joy that we all get from riding our bikes, and that is the only part of this that any of us who are part of the cycling community will be able to understand. The rest confounds us.
We are all thinking of you.

Although I live in Queensland it hit home just as hard for many of us. Things like this always do. We all lost someone with John's passing.
On behalf of Queensland's cycling community, please accept our sincerest condolences

Perhaps when you feel up to it, you will let Adelaide Cyclists know how the collision occurred.
Permalink Reply by heather on May 16, 2011 at 21:17 Some AC cyclists suggested wearing black armbands last Saturday after 3 cycling deaths: a pro cyclist in Europe; an SA teenager who sustained injuries earlier in Tasmania while racing; and a commuter cyclist at Cavan.
Has anyone thought of doing a special ride?
Permalink Reply by Simon Lownsborough on May 16, 2011 at 21:58 Very, very sad.
My heart goes out to the families of those killed. My hope is that in some way some good may come from this, in improved driver awareness. If not better press than cyclists often seem to get.
Ride safe everyone.
