Extremely happy to see a police officer with a radar gun booking speeding sports cars ascending Eagle on the hill on Sunday Morning, climbing to the Bollards is a great ride but its scary when the only thing between you and racing Posches / speeding P platers / and MotorGP riders is that thin concrete divider.

Ha ha.

Bahhaaahhaa!

The road isn't as well maintained as it was when it was the main route through the hills....that's a good enough reason to drop the limit. If people want to make a race out of getting up the hill then they can use the freeway and tunnels.

That and the fact there is now a strip of concrete running through the middle of it. Don't forget there are now two fixed speed cameras on the freeway, downtrack only though.

Kind of funny about the guy who snubbed the speed cam warning. I suppose he thought it was just some righteous cyclist being a... I dunno. But hopefully he at least saw the police if not got a ticket and his judgement has altered a little.

speed cameras ????? where?

Both on the downtrack, one just at the brow at Crafers as it heads down hill, the other just past the Mt Osmond bridge

I didnt know they were there until recently, came down the freeway on the way home from Melbourne in the last week of the school holidays and saw the one at Mt Osmond bridge. Got the shock of my life, was doing juuust over 100. I dont think they are operational yet as I saw some guys working on them when i rode up the freeway last week.

Actually, i may have gotten carried away with my post as i think the comment was more aimed at the cops radar gun on the old freeway rather than the new fixed ones on the new freeway, but, Im sure not many people know they are there yet, especially the one near Mt Osmond, real easy to creep over 100 there

I saw the policeup there sunday morning.  On the way up i wasn't setting any records.  However i did notice he was using his radar on cyclists comming down.  On my way down i game him a wave as i passed by just below the speed limit.  Stupid thing about it was on my way down i was heading into the wind, and struggling to get to 60.

I wonder wether he booked any cyclists for speeding ?

He was chatting to a hip looking MTB'er when I saw him, getting him to put his helmet on a corner or two up from the Elbow
