"half a dead chicken in ya gut...". ROFL

I remember riding with a national team rider in Belgium once and we stopped at a cafe and he had a chicken steak. When we hit the hills he was creeping and got off to check his tires even. He revived after a couple of redbulls. ;)

Thanks for the video, it looks like I know what I'm saving for next.

I like the power tap cos you can swap it between bikes. Sram quark cranks have dropped a lot in price aswell.

Options options..

what about the new Garmin pedal power system, any good? Gives you data on each foot.

Pedal based power? Will be interesting to see how they fit the strain gauges in the pedal..

I hate to go against the flow here, but I've failed to see any 'tips for climbing' in your video, DR.

"Eat vegan, train with a power meter, look at these videos of Lance dancing on the pedals..."

They're the only points you make. If 'Climbing tips' was the aim of this video, I'm sorry, but you didn't achieve this.  You don't even explain how a power meter can best be implemented in a training regime.

General training tips; sure, you've given a broad idea of something to consider when training, but climbing??  Perhaps I missed the specific tips amongst all the swearing.  ?

Watch it again. ;)

I'm with you Juz, was hoping for some nice practical climbing tips, seemed nore about diet and power meters and other random stuff. I guess they will help with climbing, along with most cycling.

Im intrigued to know if a vegn diet is the best for climbing why arent there more vegan KOM? Were Pantani Chiappucci, Virenque, Armstrong, Indurain etc the exceptions to the rule? Sounds like a good way to say no to drugs.

Not anti Vegan by the way just intrigued how this can be backed up with fact

Well the reality in pro sport is that if you aint on the hot sauce you wont be well known..Good diet helps but you won't be winning big races cos you just go high carb low fat vegan. I mean health is vital but being healthy won't spike your Testosterone 4x over the normal limit to just under the illegal limit. It won't give you an extra 500ml of blood before the big stage tomorrow. It won't numb the pain in your legs like corticosteroids will. It won't let you ride like a diesel all day l like 300mg of modafinil will.

Reality is all the top riders are VERY diet conscious and can't afford to be slapping on extra pounds with the 'I can eat anything as long as I burn it off' mentality. More and more riders are switching to a plant based diet. Just like carbon bikes, it will take a few decades before it is mainstream.

I remember in 1994 being in a bike shop and one of the staff saying 'Carbon bikes? lol! That will NEVER take off!'
