Ah so my latest pair - 2XU - are now pretty holey and coming apart at the seams after 6 months of normal use... Kinda thought for the price they should've lasted longer imho:-(
Hence I'm after some ideas for the next pair. Any brands you either love, or would totally steer clear of?
Open to spending $$ as long as the comfort and durability is justified... female input scores double points:-)

Permalink Reply by Derek Hasel on August 1, 2012 at 11:41 Good advise from Steve (A.V.O.) so much so that I have just ordered a second set of the Winter Bundle, even the leg and arm warmers are of superior quality and material. And as I said previously all manufactured in Italy not China. I have been riding for longer than I can remember and have bought just about every brand there is incl. Assos. I won't buy an other brand in future.
Permalink Reply by Rob (Chewbacca) on August 1, 2012 at 12:17 Cervo Rosso have an urban range of wear worth looking at on their web site, if you want to look beyond the nix :) Unfortunately they dont have my size in stock for nice woollen wear, will have to wait for the european winter....
By the way, the jerseys and nix are made from a material which are so different from anything you would be accustomed too...feel like silk pyjamas. You will be surprized if you do decide to purchase
A 25% discount is available to Cervo Rosso Internationl Test Team members.
It's free to join - once you do you get a 15% discount on a full bundle of kit which then entitles you to the 25% discount on further purchases. The ladies test team bundle contains the ladies strada bibs or you can buy them as a separate item off the site
Good luck with whatever you decide - it's great kit, some even call us the "Cult of Cervo Rosso" - not sure about that, but who knows, we might have a future event where we sacrifice our cheapest knicks to the Chamois god :-)
Permalink Reply by Bekster on August 2, 2012 at 15:01 Well I signed up to be on the TT, just waiting to hear back:-)
I will possibly only score single points here but what the heck.
With 2XU, it depends which shorts you buy, the cycle compression or cycle specific etc.
I have some Assos, they are also super comfy but only on par with 2XU.
If you have kept the receipt, they(2XU) have great warranty on their gear.
I tried Netti and other brands but its hard to go back once you had some of the best I found.
Its also good to alternate riding gear, like shoes also so they can fully dry out.
I rotate my gear now, on the spin bike I wear old crappy gear and on the road more comfy gear but lots of K's will see wear and tear.

I have the guys version and they are great, being "Best on Test" they're more than worth it for around $A137.
Permalink Reply by Derek Hasel on July 31, 2012 at 16:18 Bekster, I have a long time female riding partner who over the years has had major issues with bibs/knicks. The main point in contention was comfort followed by durability. She has completed many 7 day rides for example, rides to work every day (25k round trip) and usually will ride 85k - 100k each Sat and Sun. Recently I talked her into purchasing the Womens Cervo Ross bib knicks. These bib knicks were designed by Pro female riders and are actually made in Italy. I rode with her on Saturday and it was the 4th time she had worn the bibs and she made the point continuously that these knicks were the most comfortable that she had EVER worn. So I can only pass on her comments
PS I am not affiliated with Cervo Rosso, even tho it was formed and is run by an Australian. I also do not receive any freebies for making these recommendations :)
I am sure Carlyle would gladly give you your money back if you were not 100% happy with them.
Permalink Reply by Dahondude on July 31, 2012 at 16:26 And now from the bottom end of the market....
I've always used Netti's and have never had any complaints - comfortable, long lasting, value for money.
Dunno what the women's versions are like though.
They're rubbish. Forget Netti - I swear by Cinettica and Pissei
