While the article is probably quite accurate.
It seems very naive to think politicians care about what is economically sensible,
Then you should start calling them economists :-D
The political solution to the problem often seems to contain very little logic or even improvement on what the problem is.
Is politics about appearing to do something and being popular rather than truth, logic or even a solution?
