I can't believe no-one else has posted this but ...

Mike Turtur's included the corkscrew in next year's TDU!

Will we now see an increase in the number of local nutters trying to set a time they can compare against the pros?

I'm looking forwards to it. Not sure about the grass start though...

Probably no more than the other iconic Adelaide climbs like Checker, Eagle on the Hill and Willunga. Although Norton is not in the TDU, people who do Norton regularly can use Strava to see their time against Damien Howson's, which is a healthy reality check.

Interesting that Stava are nominating a segment for each stage of the TdF.  For example on Stage 1 you can see a segment time for Laurens ten Dam. http://app.strava.com/segments/707603. I wonder if they'll get some pro peloton times for TdU climbs next year?

A grass start??? I thought doping was illegal?

Only after seven years, an inquiry by a discreditied doping agency and a refusal to ride anything other than a Trek (the greatest crime) :)

Could make for a good AC event, ride up Norton to Lenswood to watch them fly through, then back to the top of Corkscrew to watch the KOM.

I remember they resurfaced CS back in late 99 and we thought it would be in the 2000 TDU. Good to see it 13 years later.

CS aint that brutal. Ive riden it 10x in a row on my dually one night. Sure will split up the bunch though if riders come over straight off a december break.

It will be interesting to see the riders fight for position on the roadnupmat the hair pins....it is a very narrow road with minimal oppotunity to pass the rider in front

Being at the end of the stage they will hit the first km of CS super hard to shell out the competition so by the time the hairpins arrive it will be literally a single file of the big hitters holding 7.5 watts per kg to open a gap up the last 120 seconds to the top anyways.

Thats my hunch anyways.

It would be nice if they resurfaced the top half of Montacute Rd to match the bottom half, now that would be nice! :)

How's your duallie geared? ;)

They'll need to take care - at the top, the junction with Montacute Road, is or was flagged, as an accident black spot.
